2004-11-16 [Dtrain]: okay, so the first lesson is go trace comic book fights. Go trace them, then try and draw them afterwards. >(This is a fast forward for advanced) imagine a battle in your head and try and grab a still frame image in your imagination, try to get the most scenematic image you can think off, and it's best angle than draw out stick figures first that are in the pose and angles you want the actual drawing to be in. Then, fill out the stick figures add mass to the arms, triangular shape to the body (if he/she's fit).

2004-11-16 [Peregrinus]: Yes indeedy. It's a method that many art books teach actually. Comic artists use it a lot. I've found tracing is highly beneficial too, as long as you can move away from it eventually, and don't take credit for it as your own.

Oh and as far as the tracing thing goes, thats how I learned to draw, after a while your brain integrates what your hand needs to do for specific shapes. It's basically muscle memory for your hand. thats why I said after you trace a picture, try to draw it again without tracing. It's a decent wayto make rapid progress, but don't be like me and skip doing the hands......ALW

2004-11-18 [Peregrinus]: Actually, George Lucas did plan to make these movies, right from the getgo. He also planned to make a sequel trilogy. That's just not going to happen at this point, but it was part of his original plan. And the Amidala/Lea thing: Lea recieves the title "princess" because she is adopted by the royal family of Alderan, not because she's Amidala's daughter. Or at least that's what all the reference material thus far has said. Lucas is screwing things up left and right these days. And mark my words, he's doing it on purpose to get back at all the people who wrote books that he didn't approve of.
2004-11-18 [Peregrinus]: Oh, and concerning the movie itself, I have absolutely no faith left in Lucasfilm. Irritating... but I dunno, I actually liked Episode 1. If they had left out Jar Jar, and gotten someone else to play Anikin, it would've been great. I mean, how can you beat Liam Neeson and Ewan McGreggor? But Episode II sucked ass through a crazy straw. I mean, it REALLY SUCKED. A monkey on crack could've written a better plot for that film. Though, I have to admit, I really did like the lightsaber fight on Camino between Obi-Wan and Jango Fett.
